A FORMER railway platform manager from Peterborough has just purchased his 20th Nissan — and gone full steam ahead with an all-new Micra.
Terry Bailey, 74, has shown incredible loyalty to the brand and to Sales Executive Darren Withers since 1996, buying his cars from Darren wherever he’s worked. The last 13 Nissans have all been bought from Smiths Nissan, on Sturrock Way.
And to thank him for his loyalty, staff at Smiths gave Terry a Nissan jacket, complimentary servicing for two years— and a ticket to see Leicester City v Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final alongside Darren and two other Smiths colleagues who Terry has formed friendships with.
Darren, who has reached 20 years’ service for Nissan, was also rewarded with a bottle of Champagne.
Terry, who used to take part in amateur rallying, said: “If I was young again I would be kitting this car out and getting back into the rallying scene. The handling and the power in the new Micra is incredible — Nissan has produced a winner and I cannot wait to drive it.”
Darren said: “Terry is a brilliant customer and someone I can call a friend. It’s a privilege to help him — I really hope he enjoys his all-new Nissan Micra and gets plenty of driving pleasure from it.”
David Smith, Dealer Principal, said: “We’ve seen the bond between Terry and Darren over the years and it’s wonderful to see it continue with the purchase of Terry’s 20th Nissan. We really value their loyalty to Nissan and to Smiths.”
