TODAY Nissan Insider talks to event controller Lucy Walton who recently attended the Motorhome & Caravan Show at the NEC in Birmingham to represent the company.
Nissan enjoys a good reputation as a manufacturer of vehicles perfect for towing caravans and boats – and this year addressed the issue in a comprehensive survey of 3,000 people, as reported on Nissan Insider. Nissan also launched a complimentary guide to towing, which was made available at all Nissan dealerships nationwide.
Lucy spared a few minutes of her time to answer some questions about Nissan’s presence at the show.
What is the nature of Nissan’s involvement with this event?
Nissan partnered with the NCC and Camping and Caravanning Club as Official Tow Car Partner for the show.
We also took an indoor stand where we had vehicles on display and an interactive game we designed called ‘Beat the expert’ to encourage guests to test their towing knowledge with the prize of a family day out up for grabs.
What was the company hoping to achieve by its involvement with the show?
Both brand and product awareness for an outstanding 4×4 range.
Which vehicles did you showcase at the event?
We had both Pathfinder and X-Trail on display and available for towing experience.
Do you think Nissan enjoys a good reputation as a manufacturer of cars suitable for caravanners?
Absolutely. We’re class-leading in towing and have some fantastic product – that’s why we partnered with C&CC to give customers the chance to try the vehicle first-hand.
Was the event a success?
The event was great – the stand was so busy we had to bring in extra staff for the weekend!
We had over 320 brochure requests in addition to the 647 test drives taken on-site.
