THE eighth and final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship takes place in Shanghai this weekend and the Signatech Nissan team will be pushing for a podium finish to round off the season.
The race at the Shanghai International Circuit is another opportunity for the WEC teams to race on one of the world’s Formula One tracks and a chance for drivers like Nissan’s Jordan Tresson to experience new parts of the world.
‘This is my first trip to China so I am excited to see what it is like,’ said Tresson. ‘We have been all over the world this year, chasing good results in our races. It has been a tough season for us but we are very motivated to finish the season on a high.
Go there and deliver
‘We were thrilled to take the podium finish in Bahrain a few weeks ago,’ he continued. ‘But that made the disappointment of Fuji even stronger for us. This is why it is so important for us to get a good finish in China. We are a strong team and we have shown we can do it so now we need to go there and deliver.’
In addition to Tresson’s No.23 Signatech Nissan car, there will be six other LMP2 cars running with Nissan power in Shanghai. After another successful season for the Nismo-tuned Nissan VK45DE V8 engine the company hopes to see a Nissan team on the top step of the podium.
The ‘6 Hours of Shanghai’ will start at 11am this Sunday local time.
