JUNE saw Nissan dealers in Europe sell 57,457 vehicles – an increase of eight per cent compared to last year.
The month’s figures has helped calendar year-to-date sales for Nissan in Europe hit 351,668 units with Qashqai, Juke and Murano performing strongly
Most models posted year-on-year sales increases contributing to a 3.4 per cent European market share in June – versus 3.1 per cent in 2010. Calendar year-to-date, Nissan now has a 3.6 per cent share of the overall market.
The Barcelona-built NV200 van shifted more than 1,570 units sold in June – an increase of 29 per cent year-on-year – and the all-new Micra recorded an 11 per cent improvement on June 2010.
Bernard Loire, Vice President Sales Operations Europe, said: ‘Nissan continues to have a very successful 2011 in Europe, with all of our major markets performing well.
‘One of the key factors driving this performance, which is likely to position Nissan as June’s highest-selling Asian car brand in Europe, is the breadth and diversity of our product offering today.
‘As well as strong crossover sales from Juke and Qashqai, we also saw important contributions from our commercial vehicles – in particular the innovative NV200 van and Primastar. X-TRAIL and Navara led our SUV sales while in the small car segment Micra and Note mini-MPV also had a good month.’
