MIDLOTHIAN Nissan dealer Alex F Noble & Son has appointed a former head of sustainable vehicles for the Scottish government and a well-known motoring journalist as a company ambassador.
John Curtis, now the managing director of thatcarexpert.com, will help support the firm’s new business charge with electric vehicles.
He is acknowledged as one of Scotland’s leading low emission vehicle experts with a weekly motoring column appearing in a Scottish national daily newspaper and also makes regular appearances on BBC Radio Scotland and TV whenever expert opinion on motoring issues is required.
John also has a detailed knowledge of transport in its wider sense having given presentations to the World Infrastructure Congress in Berlin and the European Transport Conference on issues as disparate as Intelligent Transport Systems and Sustainable and Integrated Transport networks which cover all transport modes.
His appointment will see him promote Nissan’s market-leading EVs to Scottish businesses. To support his ambassadorial role, he has been presented with a liveried all-electric Nissan LEAF.
Alex F Noble & Son Nissan sales manager, Gordon Campbell said: “With John having worked as head of sustainable vehicles at the Scottish Government and now running his own successful sustainable transport business, he is uniquely placed to support our EV team as they engage with Scottish businesses and help them to understand the positive contribution electric vehicles can make to reducing costs and emissions”.
John Curtis said: “Low emission vehicles not only contribute to improved air quality, they are cheaper too and therefore make perfect sense for many businesses, large or small. The Nissan LEAF was the first electric car I drove and as such has a very special place in my heart, so I’m delighted to be working with Alex F Noble & Son Nissan to help spread the word about just how good these cars are. With running costs of 2p per mile, what’s not to like?”
John and members of the Alex F Noble & Son Nissan EV team have already presented to an audience of around 250 at a major Edinburgh retailer and to nearly 200 staff at a leading energy provider.
