A CAMBRIDGESHIRE internet developer has taken delivery of one of the rarest and most sought after supercars in the world.
Liz Ridley, of Mildenhall, collected the keys to her new 600PS Nissan GT-R Nismo from local dealer and specialist Nismo high performance centre, Glyn Hopkin Nissan in Newmarket Road, Cambridge, on Monday.
It’s Liz’s third GT-R after she developed a passion for the model when she bought her first.
Only 24 examples of the Nissan GT-R Nismo will be delivered in the UK and all have already been sold.
The £125,000 model has been developed by Nismo’s legendary engineering team at racing circuits worldwide and features enhanced styling, optimised aerodynamics, suspension and powertrain.
All this combines to deliver a major performance boost on the standard Nissan GT-R – itself so ferocious it’s known as ‘Godzilla’ in motoring circles. This enhanced performance allowed the GT-R Nismo to set a new record lap time of 7:08.679 at the Nurburgring.
Speaking after collecting the keys to the 196mph car, Liz, said: “I only popped into the dealership to have my last GT-R’s tyres topped up with nitrogen but they told me they had a GT-R Nismo available and I couldn’t resist.
“I’ve looked at other sports cars like Aston Martins and Porsches but for the money there is simply nothing that can compete with the GT-R.
“I can’t wait to get behind the wheel.”
