TEAM GB gymnast Max Whitlock dazzled visitors to the Bucks County Show with a display of the pommel horse skills that won him two Olympic medals at London 2012.
The Hemel Hempstead born superstar – a member of the first British men’s gymnastics team to win an Olympic medal in more than 100 years – was guest of honour on Aylesbury Nissan’s stand at the event.
The dealership is sponsoring Max with a Nissan Juke as he prepares for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games – an arrangement formed as part of Nissan’s role as the Official Automotive Partner of Team GB and ParalympicsGB on the road to the Rio 2016 Olympic & Paralympic Games.
While at Bucks County Show he also took time to chat to fans, sign autographs and pose for photographs.
Speaking afterwards, an excited Max said: “I love coming to events like this. They’re a great opportunity to connect with people in a really chilled environment and to show them a bit of what I do.”
He added: “It was great that so many people took the time to come and see me on the Aylesbury Nissan stand as the dealership’s a big supporter of mine as I prepare for Rio.”
Aylesbury Nissan Sales Director, Paul Cockton said: “We were absolutely delighted Max agreed to come along to the show and to bring his pommel horse with him.
“Having an Olympic athlete performing on our stand was a really big draw as it was so different to the sort of thing you normally see at the county show.”
As part of its sponsorship of Team GB, Nissan has launched their ‘Be the heartbeat of Britain’ campaign, which will unite fans behind British athletes, celebrating their passion and engaging the nation in the build up to the Games.
