WESSEX Garages Nissan in Cardiff is offering visitors to a major storytelling festival an environmentally-friendly shuttle service in a 100% electric Nissan LEAF.
The Hadfield Road dealership is offering the service as part of its sponsorship of the Beyond the Border – Wales International Storytelling Festival at St Donat’s Castle in the Vale of Glamorgan on July 1 until 3.
The shuttle service will run throughout the event between Llantwit Major station to St Donat’s Castle.
Alec Travillian, Innovation Specialist at Wessex Garages, said: “We’re delighted we are able to support the three-day festival of stories and music from Wales and across the world in this way.”
Beyond the Border exists to create, encourage and promote traditional storytelling for contemporary audiences. The festivals vision is to ‘bring the world to Wales, and take Wales to the world’.
In addition to the event the organisers run events and projects year-round to build audiences for storytelling and to communicate its power to entertain, transform and inform people’s lives.
Becka Rickard, Company Manager at the Beyond the Border – Wales International Storytelling Festival, said: “We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Wessex Garages’ for offering the shuttle service for the event. Its support is a great help and we hope lots of people take advantage of the service.
“Due to Wessex Garages’ help we also qualified to apply for a CultureStep application and we managed to receive a further £600 from Arts & Business Cymru. This has enabled us to send more storytellers into schools to give performances and workshops. We will be transporting them in an electric car from Wessex and telling stories in and around the car on environmental themes.”
