A NEW Car Sales Executive from Bedwas in Caerphilly shaved his hair yesterday (Wednesday, July 13, 2016) in aid of a hospice in the area.
Ian Mcauliffe, who is 55-years-old and works at Wessex Garages – Nissan on Hadfield Road in Cardiff, shaved off his hair on his head to raise money for George Thomas Hospice Care.
Ian explained: “There are several people I know battling cancer right now, both here and in the USA. All are being open and honest about their fight and it is their courage that has been my inspiration.
“So rather than ask for a repost of a repost to be shared for an hour on a Facebook page I wanted to do more so I thought I would shave off the hair on my head. Cancer should no longer be a threat to anyone’s life, but it’s still here.
“I am asking for donations anyone would like to make to be given to George Thomas Hospice Care and the respective cancer research organisations here in the UK.
“This was the only positive thing I could think of doing to re-remind and show that everyone fighting cancer is living it 24/7 with courage, strength, dignity and grace. This is my small gesture of support to all these phenomenal people.”
George Thomas Hospice Care was established in 1984 and has helped more than 24,000 patients and their families in Cardiff.
