LOOKERS Nissan in Gateshead has raised £6,500 for the British Paralympic Association through a hugely popular charity golf day.
The dealership welcomed dozens of customers, suppliers, business leaders and local personalities to the event at George Washington Golf and Country Club.
The money raised by the event will enable the BPA to continue its life-changing work in the selection, preparation, funding and management of ParalympicsGB athletes.
Northumberland native and one of Britain’s most successful ever Paralympians, Steven Miller MBE – a bronze medal winner at Rio 2016 – visited the dealership to collect the cheque.
He said: ““The work of the BPA is crucial in developing the country’s future sports stars. None of it would be possible without the backing of individuals, organisations and companies such as Lookers Nissan and I am delighted to meet the team at the dealership following their hugely successful event.”
Michael Scott, Operations Director for Lookers’ Volume Division, said; “This was a fantastic day with incredible people, who all wanted to make a difference and support people who are truly amazing in their sporting endeavours.”
