EPSOM’s Nissan dealership is getting set to move to a brand new showroom that, although literally over the road from its current site, will be miles ahead in terms of customer facilities.
Wilsons of Epsom is in the final stages of refurbishing a purpose-built showroom on Kiln Lane – just 100 metres away from its existing showroom – with it set to open later this month.
The new showroom represents a six-figure investment by Wilsons and will be built to Nissan’s futuristic retail concept design. However, there’s absolutely no disruption to customers or staff as Wilsons is refurbishing its brand new dealership while keeping its existing facility running as normal.
The expanded facility will also enable Wilsons to offer the NISMO brand of performance Nissan models for the first time, and it is set to take on a NISMO specialist to cater for the requirements of NISMO enthusiasts.
Fusing cutting-edge design with luxury and technology, the new dealership will include such features as a new customer lounge where visitors can relax with a hot or cold drink, and an innovative design lab. Here, customers can explore the various personalisation options available across the range, with physical examples of trim and upholstery, and use a touchscreen table, to help them visualise what their dream Nissan would look like.
Taking centre stage in the 11-car showroom, which will allow Wilsons to display four more Nissan vehicles than currently, will be the the new, all-electric Nissan LEAF, which has been completely redesigned for 2018 and is the UK’s best-selling EV passenger car. It will be showcased under a striking canopy of light.
Outside, the display of approved used Nissan vehicles will be doubled to 150 vehicles and there will also be charging points for customers with Nissan EVs.
As with its existing dealership, Wilsons will continue to offer a full range of after sales services spanning MOTs, servicing and repairs – all completed by its team of manufacturer-trained technicians.
David Wheatcroft, Dealer Principal (pictured below), said: “When the chance came to move into, and redevelop, a larger showroom that still has the same prominent position, we jumped at the opportunity.
“It’s a major investment for us, but it shows our confidence in Nissan and the brand’s direction for the future.”
He continued: “We’ve taken the showroom back to a bare shell and it’s going to be something special when it opens. The technology in Nissan’s latest retail concept design is amazing and we’re looking forward to introducing customers to even more excitement when it comes to buying their new Nissan.”
