THE number of businesses turning to the Nissan LEAF is growing all of the time – with KeeResources taking delivery of their LEAF last week.
The firm – a leading provider of automotive information services to the leasing industry – ordered the 100 per cent electric car, and went for the optional solar panel too.
It will be used by the KeeResources team to visit clients close to their High Wycombe headquarters, as well as on business trips into London, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
‘We are well-placed to serve our motor industry customers from our offices in High Wycombe and Basingstoke, and most journeys can be undertaken within the LEAF’s 100-plus mile range,’ explained Denis Keenan, managing director of KeeResources.
‘The Nissan LEAF makes sound business sense for us as a company – its low running costs speak for themselves, but with five doors, a high level of specification and a spacious load area it provides us with a practical working vehicle that is actually a pleasure to drive,’ he added.
KeeResources, which employs 50 people, has invested in a dedicated charging facility at its High Wycombe head office.
The LEAF will keep KeeResources’ finance director happy as its 100 per cent electric status means owners are exempt from paying vehicle excise duty and congestion charge when travelling into London, while employers and employees are exempt from paying National Insurance contributions on owning or running a LEAF as a company vehicle. Zero BIK means employees can run a LEAF free of tax for private usage.
‘Forward-thinking companies like KeeResources are beginning to realise the benefits of running the LEAF as a company vehicle.
‘Whole life costs make the Nissan LEAF a serious alternative to a mainstream five-door hatchback and with the charging network increasing on a daily basis, so the LEAF is a genuine option for more company motorists,’ said Stephen Aurelius, Nissan’s regional business development manager.
