A Nissan dealership in North Norfolk has supported a local marathon by supplying the lead car for the occasion.
Crayford & Abbs, which runs a Nissan showroom in the town of Holt, provided an all-electric Nissan LEAF for the ‘Mammoth Marathon’, which took place on Sunday, May 15th.
Hundreds of runners took part in a full 26-mile course, tackling a coastal route from Sea Palling to Sheringham; with other participants embarking on a half marathon starting in Mundesley and also finishing in Sheringham.
The event, in its inaugural year, was organised by North Norfolk District Council.
Kevin Abbs, Managing Director of Crayford and Abbs, who also drove the Nissan LEAF as it led the marathon, said: ‘‘We’re so pleased to have been involved with the Mammoth Marathon.
‘‘The all-electric Nissan LEAF was the ideal choice to lead the hundreds of runners as it has zero tailpipe emissions. Myself and the whole team were extremely proud to see the LEAF take the lead for such a major local event.”
More than 500,000 Nissan LEAFs have been sold around the world since the first version of the car was launched in 2010. Still boasting the instant, full-torque acceleration that only electric vehicles can deliver, it now has a range of up to 239 miles and charging that’s faster and easier than ever.
