Nissan’s LEAF has been named tops for profit margins in the used car sector.
The EV went straight in at number 1 on the latest Dealer Auction Retail Margin Monitor.
According to data captured by Dealer Auction, used Nissan LEAF models offered dealers the best profit margins last month, with an average mark-up of £3,750, highlighting the growing opportunity that these EVs represent for retailers.
The Sunderland-built pure-electric compact is also the first electric model to top the Retail Margin Monitor since the margin tracker’s launch in January 2022.
Such success
In addition, the LEAF is the first electric vehicle to rank with an average margin of more than £3,000.
Kieran TeeBoon, Dealer Auction’s Marketplace Director, commented: “Not only is it the first time we’re seeing the LEAF, it’s the first time we’ve seen such success for an electric vehicle on our platform.
“It’s taken a while to see the increasing popularity of new EVs filter down to the used market, so this certainly inspires excitement.”
