It’s the all-electric family car that started an automotive revolution – and the Nissan LEAF is still going strong thanks to its winning combination of sharp design, green credentials and practicality.
However, UK stocks of the British-built family hatchback are limited between now and the end of 2024, and with Nissan continuing to make LEAF very financially accessible, anyone thinking of getting behind the wheel will need to act soon!
Various attractive offers are available, and full details can be found either online or via your local Nissan dealership.
Current PCP arrangements are particularly compelling. With 0 per cent interest payable and sizeable manufacturer deposit contributions, it looks as though current supplies of new Nissan LEAF will be in high demand between now and the New Year.
As an example, the Nissan LEAF Shiro edition (39kWh/150PS; RRP £28,495) is available via an agreement lasting 49 months with the customer making 48 payments of £281. A £5,000 customer deposit is payable; Nissan makes a deposit contribution of £3,000; and the annual mileage assumed is a generous 10,000. An optional final payment of £7,825 will secure ownership.
The car is extremely well equipped and the deal includes a free three-year subscription to Zap Map Premium – the charge point mapping service which allows drivers to plan their routes taking into consideration their charging requirements.
The Shiro derivative also includes ProPILOT Assist, Nissan’s popular driver-assist package, which is made up of Traffic Jam Pilot, Intelligent Lane Keep Assist and an electronic parking brake. Shiro is Japanese for white and accordingly comes with Arctic White paint as standard.
A six-metre EVSE three-pin charging cable (£295) is available as an optional extra. (The car comes with a six-metre Type 2 cable as standard.)
Other LEAFs in the line-up have plenty to offer too, and with a range of up to 168 miles, charging that’s faster and easier than ever, and innovative tools designed to help stretch your miles and your battery, there’s never been a better time to go electric with Nissan.
Strength to strength
As the first mass-market EV, LEAF has enjoyed phenomenal success over the last 14 years. Total sales globally stand at 690,000 to date – of which 290,000 have been in Europe.
And the benefits to the environment have been vast. The 12 billion kilometres travelled by LEAF drivers so far, mean that 1.9 billion kilograms of CO2 have been prevented from entering the Earth’s atmosphere.
James Bird, Electric Vehicle Section Product Manager at Nissan, said: ‘‘LEAF was the first mass-market EV when it launched in 2010. With the second generation following in 2018, we continue to be at the forefront of the electric revolution. LEAF has gone from strength to strength and continues to represent an excellent customer proposition.
‘‘With stocks somewhat limited right now, we urge anyone interested in getting behind the wheel to reach out as soon as possible, either online or via their local Nissan dealership.’’
