TO KEEP a tight grip on purse strings, some drivers may assume that going to an ‘under-the-arches’ garage is the cheapest option when getting their vehicle serviced.
Some may even be tempted to skip maintenance altogether and risk damaging the car and its value.
However, Nissan’s latest offer brings all the benefits of dealer expertise at a price to make independent garages squirm.
Nissan dealerships’ fixed-price servicing now costs from as little as £109 for cars which have passed their third birthday. As well as the reassurance that comes from knowing the car is in the hands of a Nissan-trained technician working with Nissan genuine parts, the ‘You+ Nissan Care’ commitment means customers are entitled to free RAC roadside assistance cover and a courtesy car.
The company is so confident customers won’t find a better offer it will also price-match any written quote within 10 miles of the dealership.
Gold, Silver or Bronze fixed-price servicing packages are available. The Bronze, costing from just £109, includes a 20-point check plus oil and filter change. In addition, it includes a road test to check the operation of areas such as brakes, suspension and steering.
Selling point
Customers can upgrade to the Silver package, costing from £169 and adding more checks plus a new air filter and spark plugs.
For just £60 extra the Gold package includes everything from the Bronze and Silver packages plus six more check points and the renewal of brake fluid, replacement of coolant and the fitting of a new fuel filter.
In addition to the expert care, customers benefit from RAC breakdown cover which alone could cost around £90. Plus, a service history from a Nissan dealer is bound to prove a selling point when it’s time for a customer’s Nissan to find a new home.
