WE’VE said it before on Nissan Insider… but the company really is on a roll at the moment.
The latest good news comes courtesy of figures published in the Intelligence section of the current edition of What Car?
The magazine draws attention to new car sales data for the first three months of the year which shows Nissan sales up an impressive 20 per cent to 30,081.
It’s not the most significant gain in terms of percentage points (Ssangyong for instance is up 3,229 per cent) but What Car? says Nissan’s performance is meaningful because it was already a volume player.
In March, Qashqai was the sixth best-selling car in the UK, with 8,487 of the Sunderland-built cars shifted. A total of 12,491 Qashqais were sold in the first three months of the year, again making it the sixth most popular car.
What Car? also reports: ‘Nissan’s surging sales are reflected in [our] website readers’ searches. The brand is the third most commonly searched.’
The figures for used car searches make encouraging reading for Nissan dealers. The X-Trail is in fourth spot with the Qashqai in ninth.
