TO celebrate Nissan’s support of the DeltaWing Le Mans project, the manufacturer has invited a number of journalists to the 24 hour race.
Reporters from Top Gear Magazine, Sky Sports, the Daily Mail and a number of other high-profile publications yesterday started their trip to the famous French race.
Nissan Insider was along for the ride too. The Nissan convoy is made up of a series of incredible cars from the manufacturer. Journalists have been able to choose between two R35 G-TRs, an R34 GT-R, a supercharged 350Z, a 370Z NISMO tuned and even a London Taxi Cab, among others.
The trip is designed to give reporters a taste of Nissan’s products and the chance to see the firm’s unique Le Mans project take part in the race.
Star of the paddock
The firm’s PR department has also got an ingenious stunt up its sleeve – a full road-legal replica of the DeltaWing. Built to exact specifications, the amazing car is set to be the star of the paddock.
Also making the journey down are a number of Nissan head office staff members. They were challenged to build replicas of the DeltaWing too and then make the pilgrimage to the 24-hour race (see video below).
After staying just outside Le Mans last night, the Nissan party is set to head to the circuit today where they’ll take up residence in a 400-room pop-up Nissan hotel.
- More on that and the journey down later.
