NISSAN Sunderland Plant is hosting a specialist recruitment day this Saturday, June 23, as the plant gears up for the busiest period in its 26-year history.
Preparations are well under way for the introduction of four new models recently announced for production in the UK, including the 100 per cent electric Nissan LEAF.
Also confirmed for the plant are the next-generation Nissan Qashqai, a new B-segment car based on the Invitation concept and a new C-segment hatchback.
These exciting new cars will join the Nissan Juke at Sunderland Plant, with investment in this new model line-up topping £921million.
Ahead of this new era for the UK automotive sector, Nissan Sunderland Plant, which produces more than one in three British cars, is now looking for up to 200 talented and specialist staff in areas including production management, engineering, maintenance, information systems and logistics.
Record production
Kevin Fitzpatrick, Nissan’s vice president for manufacturing in the UK, said: ‘The popularity of the Nissan Qashqai and the Nissan Juke has meant our Sunderland Plant has achieved record production in each of the last two years, both of which were UK industry records.
‘Four new models have now been announced for the plant. As a result we are recruiting for up to 200 specialist staff.
‘I would encourage anyone interested in furthering their career at the UK’s biggest car plant to attend this specialist recruitment day or to visit our website for all current vacancies.’
The recruitment day on June 23 takes place between 10am and 2pm at Nissan Sunderland Plant, Washington Road, Sunderland, SR5 3NS. Potential candidates will have the chance to meet Nissan staff from their area of interest and find out in an informal setting about all opportunities.
