RELIABILITY is of course a key factor customers take into account when planning a car purchase.
And with that in mind, here’s some news dealers can use to their advantage.
The renowned ADAC breakdown organisation in Germany has praised Nissan for the extremely low level of breakdowns the company’s cars experience.
The organisation’s 2011 statistics, published earlier this year, ranked Nissan’s popular urban models – the Qashqai, Note and Micra as ‘very reliable’ for their performance during registration years 2007-2011.
The ADAC is Europe’s largest automobile club representing nearly 18 million members and conducts one of the continent’s most demanding quality surveys annually.
Out of 28 vehicles in the C-segment category, the Sunderland-built Nissan Qashqai continued its five-year reign as a quality leader, achieving fifth position ahead of key competitors VW Golf, Renault Scenic and Toyota Auris and was only beaten by German premium brands Mercedes, Audi and BMW.
Excellent quality standards
In the small cars category, the Nissan Note held onto fifth position out of 24 vehicles for the fourth year running, beating the Ford Fusion, Peugeot 207 and Renault Clio.
The Nissan Micra also held its status for the third year, achieving 14th place in the same class ahead of the Toyota Yaris and Skoda Fabia.
Vincent Wijnan, Managing Director of Nissan Center Europe, said: ‘We are proud that Nissan has performed so well in this evaluation. It demonstrates the excellent quality standards of our models.’
