WITH the recent successes of the Team GB and ParalympicsGB teams at the Sochi Winter Games front of mind, we wanted to update you on the progress of our Dealer Athlete programme which allows dealers to partner with athletes and benefit from Nissan’s role as Official Automotive Partner to Team GB and ParalympicsGB.
Last week we celebrated Olympic track cyclist Jess Varnish and Paralympic long jumper Stef Reid joining the increasing number of athletes now signed up to the Dealer Athlete programme as they collected their vehicles from Nissan dealerships.
Through the scheme, participating dealers are paired with a local athlete – all of whom will have aspirations of representing Great Britain at the Rio 2016 Games.
In return for loaning a car, the dealers get numerous publicity opportunities, with a photo opportunity and press release, and an agreed number of personal appearances by the athlete which are great for driving traffic whether to the showroom or local events.
This partnership will prove extremely beneficial to the athlete by removing any worries they have about transport and allowing them to focus on their training.
Marketing Communications Manager, John Parslow, said: “This is a great opportunity for dealers to get involved with Nissan’s wider partnership with Team GB and ParalympicsGB at a local and regional level.
‘A partnership with a local athlete could be invaluable to helping them achieve their dreams at the Games and could also prove to be of tremendous value to the dealership.’
