THE all-new model of the Nissan LEAF, which has pioneered the mainstream electric car market with more than 20,000 UK sales, has been a huge hit on its pre-launch UK tour.
The stunning British-built hatchback has visited eight dealerships so far — Macklin Motors Glasgow, Lookers Gateshead, Chorley Preston, West Way Manchester, Sandicliffe Nottingham, Glyn Hopkin St Albans (see video below), Ancaster Slough and Wessex Garages Bristol — with customers getting a first-hand glimpse of its exciting new features and learning more about its increased range and technology.
Generating most interest was the all-new LEAFs e-Pedal — which allows drivers to start, accelerate and stop using just one pedal — and ProPILOT advanced driver assistance to take the stress out of single-lane driving and parking, by automatically controlling the steering, acceleration, braking and gear selection.
Across the tour, hundreds of customers came to take a first look at the vehicle and register their interest to take a test drive once models arrive in showrooms early next year.
Additionally, more than 40 customers pre-ordered the limited-release launch edition Nissan LEAF 2.Zero, priced from £26,490 (including government plug in car grant).
The all-new Nissan LEAF goes further than its predecessor thanks to its 40kWh battery giving an improved driving range of up to 235 miles*, while safety features are included in abundance, from Nissan’s Around View Monitor, to its Intelligent Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Together with a complete revamp of the exterior, with a dynamic new front end and signature ‘floating roof’, the interior is comfortable, spacious and packed with technology to guide and entertain. It features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity and steering wheel mounted controls.
