Three Nissan dealership employees have been recognised for going above and beyond to look after the brand’s customers, earning them August’s Dealer Ambassador of the Month honours.
The monthly award, which is open to all staff in the Nissan retail network, recognises an individual’s outstanding commitment to customers and colleagues. It is designed to celebrate best practice and examples of exceptional customer service. In August, Sales Consultant for Gyln Hopkin North London Riyaadh Ramjan, Sales Consultant at Wessex Garages Gloucester Mark Mayled, and Master Technician at Glyn Hopkin Cambridge Colin Wilson, won praise from NMGB directors and 350 N-GAGE points each.
Sales Consultant Riyaadh was nominated for his great customer service, which led to the customer buying a car but also writing to praise him for the care and time he took.
The customer wrote: “I visited twice and he spent hours answering every conceivable question and didn’t mind that I was going backward and forward with decisions. He encouraged me to take my time and didn’t put any pressure on at all for a sale. I could tell that he was genuine in his effort to make sure that I was happy. I have never met the young man before but I will definitely recommend him to everyone.”
Meanwhile, Mark assisted a Motability customer with autism, ADHD, Tourette’s, learning difficulties and severe anxiety in buying her new car, which makes the whole process very difficult for them. The family wrote in to say how pleased they were with how he helped.
“Mark has displayed extreme patience and diligence,” they said. “She continually changes her mind and confuses not only herself but everyone else with her demands.
“Despite the fact we paid to have the car valeted in Stroud, Mark was concerned that it wasn’t clean enough and we would not get our deposit back from Motability. He arranged to get it cleaned at Nissan thus enabling us to receive or full deposit and we are extremely grateful to him for sorting this out for us. She is very pleased with her new car.”
Master Technician Colin was nominated for his consistent performance and always going ‘over and above’ for the customer.
“Colin is one of my GTR Techs – Probably the best in the UK. He goes over and above for his customers consistently,” said the nomination.
“When he puts a call on the Techline he will have done everything we would ask him to do before he contacts us, so it will always be a difficult to fix vehicle if he’s calling or he has fixed it already and will be telling us!”
The Brand Ambassador of the Month awards will continue throughout 2019 and senior staff are invited to nominate their best team members over the coming months.
