Customer handovers under way as All New, third-generation Nissan LEAF arrives in dealerships

August 14, 2026
Home Nissan GB News

The third-generation, all-electric Nissan LEAF has arrived in dealerships across the UK – and the first examples have been handed over to customers.

One of the first buyers to receive his All New LEAF was Shaun Wilby, who picked up his new car at Fish Brothers Nissan in Swindon – travelling all the way from Leeds to do so.

Shaun and his partner Hannah Smith are big fans of the Nissan brand – and the Fish Brothers dealership in particular. The reason they make such long journeys for their automotive needs is that they have become friends with Dealer Principal Simon Dando thanks to the power of social media.

Simon, Shaun and Hannah are members of an online Nissan EV owners’ group, where they discuss all things EV, and Nissan news and developments in particular. Shaun dealt mainly with sales executive Aimee Kryeziu during his LEAF purchase.

Like Shaun, Hannah is a huge fan of Nissan’s electric cars. She currently drives an ARIYA Nismo – a high-performance and eye-catching version of the manufacturer’s award-winning coupe crossover.

Award winning LEAF offers plenty of range

During the couple’s most recent visit to Fish Brothers, All New LEAF was very much in the spotlight, however. The car has been making a big impression before its arrival in UK dealerships, winning a number of awards including being named Auto Express Car of the Year for 2026.

With its 75kWh battery, Shaun’s car is capable of travelling up to 387 miles on a single charge. An Advance trim level model, it boasts plenty of creature comforts such as a dimming panoramic sunroof; heated seats and steering wheel; a head-up display; and an electric powered tailgate.

The distance the car can travel between charges also proved key to his purchasing decision.

He said: ‘‘Hannah and I travel from Leeds to London regularly and it’s great to know we’ll be able to do that 200-mile journey on a single charge. The same will apply if we ever want to go to Scotland.

‘‘The features on the LEAF such as the heated seats and heated steering wheel will be great for me when winter comes around – I leave home for work very early each day and the warmth will help make those chilly journeys more bearable. The car is superb – many thanks to Simon, Aimee and the Fish Brothers team for assisting with the purchase.’’

‘Built in Britain’ credentials help drive demand

Simon Dando, Dealer Principal at Fish Brothers, said: ‘‘We are delighted to welcome Shaun and Hannah back to our dealership and we are sure Shaun will be delighted with his All New LEAF. The couple have become firm friends of ours and are welcome to drop in at any time.

‘‘The fact that they are happy to travel from Leeds to Swindon is a real testament to us as a business. It shows how we put our customers first and do the very best we can for them.’’

Like Shaun, Simon is a huge fan of All New LEAF, and says it’s proving particularly popular because of its ‘built in Britain’ credentials. With up to 20 examples set to be handed over to Fish Brothers customers between now and the end of September, the level of interest in the car is increasing all the time.

He said: ‘‘Nissan have hit the nail on the head with their current marketing campaign. It hammers home the fact that LEAF is designed, engineered and built in Britain. It’s a very positive message which is appealing strongly to customers and the car is a superb overall package.’’
