DAVID Weir CBE, London Marathon legend and Paralympic Gold Medallist, was guest of honour on the Nissan stand at the Mobility Roadshow at Donington Park.
The carmaker had a strong presence at this year’s show – which took place from June 25 to 27 – and had both its Pulsar family hatchback and multi award-winning British-built Qashqai crossover available for viewing and test drives.
But while the cars were the undoubted stars of the show, revered athlete Weir – a holder of six Paralympic gold medals and winner of six London Marathons – provided added excitement.
This Nissan brand ambassador, who drives a Nissan X-Trail modified with steering wheel controls, was on the company’s stand on Saturday, June 27 to chat to fans, sign autographs and pose for photographs.
Nissan Motability experts were also available throughout the show to introduce visitors to the Nissan range and to talk through the payment and modification options available for disabled drivers.
