A BRIDGEND Nissan dealer is aiming to become Wales’ most female-friendly car dealership.
Bassetts Nissan in York Road set itself the goal after realising it had an above average number of female employees.
Currently the dealership has six women in its team – Jo Thomas, Sales Controller, Mags Button, Sales Executive, Abby Pedersen, Sales Admin, Amy Crothers, Service Manager, Natalie Edwards, Service Advisor and Sarah Parsons, Receptionist.
And working together with their male colleagues, including Dealer Principal, Ashley White, they are determined to make sure female motorists and car buyers are treated as equal to their male counterparts.
Maggs Button, Sales Executive, said: “As a woman, I’ve encountered sexism when I’ve taken my car to other garages before and I’m sure that’s the case for all of us.
“As a business Bassetts really values its female staff and customers and is focused on treating everyone the same. We’re all working together to ensure we are truly female-friendly and welcoming across all of our operations.”
Ashley said: “We are doing all we can to make everyone feel valued when they come in to buy a car and with the high number of female employees at the dealership, we feel we can make it a friendlier place for them.”
