The team at a Nissan dealership in Omagh, County Tyrone have helped to raise £1,000 for charity in memory of a much-loved colleague who sadly died last year.

The fund-raising effort was organised by staff at Pat Kirk Ltd., in Omagh and Strabane, as a tribute to accounts assistant Fay Pratt, who worked for the business for five years and passed away in October.

Colleagues were invited to wear seasonal knitwear on Christmas jumper day in December and make a donation to Northern Ireland Chest, Heart and Stroke. The organisation’s aim is to create a Northern Ireland free from chest, heart and stroke illnesses.

The donations made by staff at the dealership were matched by a contribution from the management team, with the two sums adding up to £1,000. A cheque for that amount was handed over to Northern Ireland Chest, Heart and Stroke recently.

Jolene Farrell, Group Marketing Manager at Pat Kirk Ltd., said: ‘‘Fay was not only a valued and dedicated member of our team, but also a genuine friend to many of us.

Commitment and integrity

‘‘Her warmth, kindness and sense of humour brightened even the busiest days, and her commitment and integrity shone through in everything she did. She is deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of working with her.

‘‘We will continue to raise money for Northern Ireland Chest, Heart and Stroke every Christmas jumper day, to keep Fay’s memory alive within our company. The fact that we raised £1,000 is a true reflection of the care and compassion within our team and we cannot thank them enough for what they have given.’’
