STAFF from a Northumberland dealership will brave new heights as they zip-slide off Newcastle’s Tyne Bridge for charity.
Managing Director William Blackshaw, along with service advisors Amy Welsh and Gemma Mooney, from Blackshaws Nissan in Alnwick, have signed up to launch themselves off the famous landmark.
In doing so they hope to raise as much money as possible for HospiceCare North Northumberland.
In the lead up to the event on Saturday, June 6, colleagues and customers at the Birch Close dealership have been digging deep to support the trio’s fundraising efforts.
William said: “I’m not that great with heights so I’m trying not to think about it too much.
“But when I get up there I’m sure I’ll be fine. It’ll be worth it as the HospiceCare North Northumberland is such a fantastic charity. We’ll be raising money and having an adventure at the same time.”
The charity zip-slide off the Tyne Bridge has been taking place for the past six years. Anyone aged over 16 can sign up for it and raise money for the charity of their choice.
The zip-slide starts from the Newcastle side 30 metres up in the air and travels diagonally across the River Tyne for 230m before finishing at HMS Calliope on the Gateshead side.
The sold-out event takes place on June 6 and 7.
