A CAR dealership has clocked up a 30-year association with its local rugby team.
Alex F Noble & Son in Edinburgh started its connection with Lasswade RFC back in 1985, initially sponsoring the team on an informal basis through programme advertising and match day hospitality.
As the club grew in stature over the years, the sponsorship package developed in tandem culminating in 2008 with Alex F Noble & Son becoming the club’s main sponsor and supplying, for the first time, a brand new Nissan vehicle for the club’s use.
Now, in 2015, the dealership has clocked up its seventh year in succession as main sponsor with the recent delivery of the latest Nissan Pulsar 1.6 DiGT which is proving particularly invaluable in helping the National 2 side in its quest to develop rugby as a curriculum sport in all schools in Midlothian.
Lasswade RFC club president, Ian Barr, said: “Our thanks once again go to Alex F Noble & Son for their continued support over an amazing 30-year period, but particularly over the last seven years as main sponsor, where they have been good enough to supply us with a new vehicle on an annual basis.
“The Pulsar vehicle is proving particularly invaluable in our drive to grow new rugby talent within our community through our schools programme which goes from strength to strength. We now regularly visit around 14 primary and two secondary schools across the region.
“Without Alex F Noble & Son’s assistance, we would obviously struggle to deliver rugby throughout our local area. We are indebted to them for their long standing and valuable support.”
David Noble, Dealer Principal at Alex F Noble & Son Nissan, added: “We’re very pleased to have been associated with Lasswade RFC at various levels over the last 30 years and delighted that the new Pulsar is making such a huge contribution to the club’s commendable schools education programme. Everyone at the dealership wishes Lasswade RFC continued success on and off the field.”
