A NISSAN Juke leased under the Motability scheme was handed over to its new owner at Five Acres Nissan in Coleford by Disabled People’s Minister Mark Harper.
John Boyle – who is 65 and retired – has arthritis, lymphoedema and is currently waiting for a knee replacement. He previously leased a Qashqai under the scheme.
Mr Harper, who is also John’s MP for the constituency of the Forest of Dean, said: “Motability is a fantastic scheme, which supports the personal mobility of thousands of people around the UK.
“As Minister of State for Disabled People, it was a pleasure to meet John and his wife Sue, and to see how the scheme provides a lifeline to those in my constituency.”
John said: “I am very grateful to the Motability scheme, as my personal mobility is very restricted. But by leasing a reliable car I am able to get out and about in comfort.
“I would be lost without Motability, so am thankful for the brilliant support I receive on the scheme.”
Sir Gerald Acher, the Vice-Chairman of Motability, said: “I would like to thank Mark Harper for supporting the Motability scheme as well as attending this special event at Five Acres Nissan.
“Since the scheme was set up in 1977, we have helped almost four million people become independent, and we remain committed to this in the future.”
