A TEAM from a Nissan dealership in Exeter have raised over £750 for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust after competing in a Dragon Boat Festival.
Members of the team from Exeter Nissan on Grace Road took the water for the event on Exeter Quay on Sunday, where they competed against other businesses for the local charity.
Matthew Holcombe, Sales Director at Exeter Nissan, said: “As a dealer we want to get involved in the community as much as possible so this was a perfect event for us to take part in and have a bit of competitive fun.
“It has been a well-supported event for a number of years and a real highlight in the charity’s calendar of events.
He added: “We all really enjoyed taking part and even though we didn’t win, we are delighted to have raised a fantastic amount of money that will support them in its work across the county.”
Calling themselves ‘Team Innovation’, also joining Matthew in the boat was Jamie Kennedy, Workshop Controller, Craig Perry, Sales Executive, Helen Oakham, Service Advisor, Mike Dixon, Technician, Josh Andrews, Technician, Russell Lemon, Motability Specialist, Markus Jones, EV Specialist, Brad Wellaway, Technician, Sam Rich, Sales Administrator, Vicki Spencer, Sales Advisor and Callum Cross, Technician.
It is the third event the charity has organised as it looks to raise the £5.5 million it needs every year to keep its two air ambulances flying.
