The All-New, all-electric Nissan LEAF and MICRA are currently being showcased on an ambitious four-month tour of more than 130 Nissan showrooms across the UK.

The team at Marshall Nissan Oxford were delighted to host the first event on the ‘Electric Encounters Live’ tour calendar – and the day at the dealership was declared a huge success. Dozens of potential and existing Nissan customers, all keen to check out the two new models, called into the showroom in Langford Lane.

David Dawson, General Manager, said: ‘‘We were very pleased to be the first dealership involved in Electric Encounters Live and the day couldn’t have gone any better.

‘‘All-New LEAF and All-New MICRA are terrific cars and were very well received by our 60 or so guests – we were thrilled to have such a good turnout. We were also delighted to take a number of pre-orders for both EVs.

‘‘My colleagues at the dealership worked hard to make the day a success and the Nissan events team were super-helpful as well. Many thanks to everyone who helped the occasion run smoothly.’’

As will be the case on all dates of the tour, the Electric Encounters Live day in Oxford featured dramatic reveals of both models and presentations from product experts. Other dealerships due to be visited in the early stages included Glyn Hopkin Nissan St Albans; Norton Way Nissan Letchworth and Desira Nissan Norwich.

All-New Nissan LEAF was recently named The Sun’s Car of the Year at the 2025 Motor Awards. Since the first edition made its debut in 2010, the car has sold close to 700,000 units worldwide, earning its place in history as the world’s first mass-market electric vehicle. Now, Nissan is ushering in a new chapter for the nameplate, re-designed and re-engineered to meet the needs of modern EV customers, while remaining true to its roots.

Meanwhile, All-New MICRA returns as a fully connected, pure EV. Combining an assertive personality with zero-emission mobility, the car stays true to its guiding principles as a stylish and unpretentious choice; characteristics that have underpinned its popularity across five generations and more than 40 years.

Like LEAF, the stylish MICRA also offers the latest safety technology and Google Built-In.

Fiona Mackay, Nissan GB Marketing Director, said: “We are very excited that our Electric Encounters Live tour is now under way after months of careful planning and preparation. Both All-New Nissan LEAF and All-New MICRA look fantastic and are packed with the latest smart technology to make driving simpler, safer and more fun.

‘‘News of LEAF’s success at the News UK 2025 Motor Awards has certainly served to heighten interest in the tour and it’s wonderful that everything is going well in these early weeks. We’re thrilled to be able to show people what they could be driving in 2026. Book your place at your local dealership today!’’
