Macklin Motors Glasgow South and Glasgow Central Nissan have agreed a two-year partnership with the Glasgow Rocks basketball team.
As part of the deal, Macklin Motors Glasgow South Nissan on Welbeck Road has supplied the team with two brand new Nissan Qashqais.
A number of overseas players share accommodation whilst in Scotland playing for the Rocks, and the vehicles will be used by them to travel to and from the Emirates Arena, as well as general transportation.
The partnership is set to last two years, with Macklin Motors keeping the players on the road and the brand’s logo appearing on match day boards and in programmes.
Glasgow Rocks is the only Scottish member of the topflight of the sport in Britain – the British Basketball League (BBL).
Barry Lindsay, General Manager at Macklin Motors Glasgow South Nissan, said: “I’m very pleased that we have been able to support Glasgow Rocks for the next two seasons.
Excellent service
“Macklin Motors is passionate about supporting local sport. Clubs like Glasgow Rocks give so much back to the community and it’s important that we help them continue that work and encourage young people to engage with sport.”
Michail Mavroudis, Business Development Manager for Glasgow Rocks, said: “It is the players’ job to perform on court, but it is the team’s job to provide them with all the means, so that they are happy in their new environment.
“With teammates like Macklin Motors Glasgow South Nissan, our job is made easier. Barry and his colleagues have provided us with excellent service, amazing new cars, and top-notch assistance, going above and beyond any partnership expectations.”
