NISSAN’S largest dealer franchise group, Glyn Hopkin, is celebrating after one of its own won the carmaker’s top global prize for electric vehicle performance, the EV CEO Award.
Stuart Hodson, Operations Director and former Nissan Brand Director of
Glyn Hopkin Nissan, which has 14 dealerships across London and surrounding counties, was one of just 25 in the world to be recognised for their EV sales and representation.
The awards were presented by the Hiroto Saikawa — who became CEO of Nissan Global in February — at a special awards ceremony in Japan.
As well as receiving the accolade, Stuart enjoyed a six-day trip to Tokyo, which included an extremely rare opportunity to visit the Nissan Factory/Technical Centre and finished with the EV CEO Award ceremony.
Stuart, who has worked for Glyn Hopkin for 24 years, and was Nissan Brand Director for eight years before taking on the new role of Operations Director at the start of 2017, said: “It was a huge surprise to win but more than anything an incredible honour. And, to be one of the few to get an inside glimpse of Nissan Global was truly amazing.”
Edward Jones, EV Category Manager for NMGB, said: “This money-can’t-buy experience was so well deserved for Stuart. To win the EV CEO Award is a huge achievement, and we are incredibly proud of him and of Glyn Hopkin.”
