A GOLFER from South Croydon has won a brand new set of clubs after sinking a hole-in-one.
Keith Robertson hit the once in a lifetime shot on the third hole at Addington Court Veteran’s Golf Club Open Competition in July.
And the 70-year-old retired IT programme manager was rewarded with a set of Taylormade Irons from longstanding sponsor Ancaster Nissan on Brighton Road.
Keith, who plays off a 23 handicap, said: “I’ve never had a hole-in-one before so I was in complete shock when the ball disappeared into the hole, I couldn’t believe it.
“It is a fantastic prize to win and I’d like to thank Ancaster for the new clubs. The event is always really well organised every year and hopefully the new equipment will help me get more holes-in-ones in future!”
Russell Head, Sales Manager at Ancaster South Croydon, added: “We have enjoyed a great working partnership with Addington Court Veteran’s Golf Club for a number of years and were more than happy to provide a set of clubs as a prize for this year’s competition.
“At Ancaster we want to be in the heart of the community as much as possible so we are delighted to hear Keith is enjoying his new clubs. We look forward to continuing this partnership for many years to come.”
This year the competition supported The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, a world-leading cancer centre caring for 50,000 patients every year at their hospital in Fulham Road, London.
