A further three Nissan dealership employees have been recognised for going above and beyond to look after the brand’s customers, earning them June’s Dealer Ambassador of the Month honours.
The monthly award, which is open to all staff in the Nissan retail network, recognises an individual’s outstanding commitment to customers and colleagues. It is designed to celebrate best practice and examples of exceptional customer service, and in June saw Gary McDonagh of Hurst Nissan Centre, Belfast, Andrew Kinnersely of Newtown Motors, Cwbran and Dawn Bayliss of Wylam Garages, Hexham, winning praise from NMGB directors and 350 N-GAGE points each.
Service Advisor Gary McDonagh was nominated by Service Manager Miles Cowie for going beyond the call of duty to assist an elderly customer.
“The customer was an older gentleman who lived alone;” said Miles. “In conversation, the customer mentioned that he had a fault with his electricity that started two days earlier and that he wasn’t sure what to do about it. Gary took it upon himself to call the electricity company whilst the customer was with him and was able to get the problem sorted. That goes above and beyond customer care!”
Andrew Kinnersley – a Service Advisor at Newtown Motors – was nominated by Service Manager, Leigh Gammon. The nomination came after praise from a customer whose car failed its MoT. She was suffering from severe back pain at the time, so Andrew made sure she was able to get transport to and from the dealership, as well as going out of his way to make sure the customer had coffee and magazines to read while waiting for the MoT repairs to be carried out.
Wessex Garages Sales Consultant, Dawn Bayliss, was put forward by Dealer Principal Sean Conley, for coming up with a very creative solution to keep a return customer happy.
He said: “Dawn had a long standing customer who was buying a new Micra auto, but because there was no cd player in the car, the customer wasn’t sure about going ahead with the purchase. Dawn purchased a memory stick for the customer and put her entire CD collection onto the memory stick for her, so she went ahead with the purchase. To me, this is showing outstanding customer commitment.”
The Brand Ambassador of the Month awards will continue throughout 2019 and senior staff are invited to nominate their best team members over the coming months.
To enter the July awards, nominate through N-GAGE by 7th August.
