Dear Colleague,
I’d like to draw your attention to the latest Nissan Network Profitability Report (June 15) which sets out some very welcome and encouraging figures.
I’m sure you’ll take the time to study the report in detail but, for me, the highlights are a 66% year-on-year rise in dealer profitability in the second quarter of 2015, a 1.5% return on sales (calendar year to date), and rising service and parts department profits.
As you know, working with the Nissan management team to improve the bottom line for dealers has long been a priority for the NDA and so the figures contained in the latest report, and the upward profit trajectory it points to, are particularly pleasing.
It’s great to see that Nissan is taking steps to ensure dealer profitability rises in line with the brand’s market share and aspirations and that the manufacturer is paying attention to our bottom line at a time when we’re being placed under real volume pressures and are being asked to invest in the new retail concept.
In the coming months, the NDA will certainly continue its focus on profitability and will encourage the Nissan management team to do likewise.
Meantime, as ever, we would invite you to contact the NDA with your views and concerns on this or any other issue affecting your dealership and the wider Nissan brand and network.
We have taken great steps recently, with the support of the Nissan management team, to ensure we are better able to represent the network, more responsive to issues facing your business and more effective in our communications with you and the manufacturer.
As a result we have enlarged the dealer association and have introduced a more comprehensive and up-to-date NDA section on NGAGE which contains all the latest information and minutes of our meetings.
I look forward to the NDA working more closely with you all moving forward and here’s hoping for continued good news for 2015 and beyond.
Yours sincerely
Stephen
