MOTORISTS struggling to fit this year’s Christmas tree in the car will be offered a free, emergency ‘tree-covery’ service thanks to a family-owned motor group in Wakefield.
Harratts, which operates the Nissan Harratts Wakefield dealership on Denby Dale Road, has a special Nissan Navara SUV ready to answer emergency calls from residents of Wakefield whose eyes are bigger than their car boots.
Using a dedicated emergency tree-covery hotline, Harratts will be on hand to drive to the rescue of the motorist, taking the Christmas tree back to their home free of charge, in order to ensure that festive plans aren’t scuppered by super-sized spruces or ill-fitting firs.
The Nissan Navara, known affectionately as the ‘Spruce Bringsteen’, will be in operation from today and was launched in response to Harratts staff witnessing firsthand the struggle of Wakefield residents wanting the prefect tree for Christmas but without the means to take it home once purchased.
The emergency number – 01924 290390 – which can be called by residents living in WF1 or WF2 postcodes*, summons the Spruce Bringsteen to ensure Christmas 2012 will be as happy as previous years.
Fun and exciting
Danny Holden, marketing manager at Harratts, said: ‘Buying the family Christmas tree should be a fun and exciting experience. Sadly, we’ve noticed far too often that it can be easy to underestimate the size of the tree when buying it in the open air and that can spell disaster for getting it home in the car.
‘This is why we’ve launched our ”Tree-covery” service this Christmas; to make sure Wakefield residents get their festive season off to the best possible start. Just call the hotline if you live in a WF1 or WF2 postcode and we’ll be there to help.’
