EXCITEMENT was in the air at an Essex Nissan dealership at the weekend as local car enthusiasts and customers were treated to an exclusive preview of the 2017 Nissan GT-R.
The stunning new model was on display at Glyn Hopkin’s showroom in Romford along with a mint 1973 Datsun 240Z – the first model in Nissan’s legendary ‘Z-car’ series – and part of the dealer group’s own heritage collection.
The event attracted dozens of Nissan owners and sports car fans and the dealership has already taken three orders for latest incarnation of the GT-R – a 570 horsepower engineering tour de force.
Fraser Cohen, Managing Director of Glyn Hopkin, said: “We were delighted to have the 2017 Nissan GT-R on display alongside a beautiful classic car that reflects our long-standing partnership with the Nissan brand. We had some fantastic responses to the new supercar as well as our fully restored Heritage Collection model.”
He added: “I was really impressed by the GT-R’s new touchscreen infotainment system, but I was even more amazed that the 240Z still has its original push-button radio!”
The metallic blue 240Z was fully restored by the company’s expert technicians. An original right-hand-drive example, the Datsun was first registered in May 1973 and has had just one owner from new.
