NISSAN will be giving away a Qashqai as part of its ‘random acts of kindness’ campaign aimed at promoting its new used car scheme, Cared4.
The manufacturer is asking the public to nominate someone in their community whom they feel deserves the car on a special Facebook page and microsite.
The giveaway is part of a wider promotional campaign to promote the Cared4 scheme which more than 50 dealers are now running.
Other events designed to raise awareness of the scheme and create a buzz around the new brand have included an offer to wash cars for free at the Buchanan Galleries shopping centre in Glasgow. There, a team of car washers targeted Nissan owners and offered to clean their vehicles while they shopped.
‘This week we’ve also been at the M6 Toll road and have been paying for Nissan drivers to get through for free,’ explained a Nissan spokesman.
‘We paid for 500 drivers to get through. The idea being that these random acts of kindness show we care, which is exactly what our used car scheme, Cared4, is all about.’
Another stunt planned will see teams hand out free umbrellas in Manchester. That event has been in the offing for a while, but so far it hasn’t rained!
The wacky promotional campaign is being backed up by other advertising in traditional media for Cared4 too.
Nissan MD Jim Wright recently told Insider how important he felt used cars were for his network.
‘It’s not just about walking customers into new cars but taking the profit opportunity of used cars too,’ he told us. ‘We are not particularly strong here and with the way our volumes have grown over the past two years we need to take advantage of the change cycle we are about to come into.’
Cared4 offers buyers a minimum 12 months warranty, an exchange policy and a detailed check of all cars sold on the scheme.
