A DEALERSHIP helped care home pensioners get to Buckingham Palace for tea – by lending them a Nissan Qashqai for the day.
Crayford & Abbs Nissan in Holt, Norfolk came to the rescue after hearing how residents at Halsey House in Cromer had been invited to London – but required transport.
The generous dealership sent the Royal British Legion-run home the award-winning Qashqai to drive down to the Queen’s residence so they wouldn’t miss out on the special occasion.
Kevin Abbs, Director at Crayford and Abbs, in Gypsies Lane, said: “We love to do our bit in the local community so we were only too happy to help out. The residents had the time of their lives and said it was a wonderful experience to visit the palace. They also enjoyed travelling in comfort and style in the Qashqai.”
Halsey House in Norwich Road is exclusive to ex-service people and their dependants and can accommodate up to 89 residents, which includes a 16-bed dementia care wing.
