THE Cambridge Organic Food Co is now delivering boxes of organic fruit and vegetables in a three-strong fleet of all-electric Nissan e-NV200 vans.
Supplied by Glyn Hopkin — the UK’s largest independent Nissan dealer group with 14 dealerships — the 100% electric Nissan vans travel all over south Cambridgeshire with minimal environmental impact.
And the added bonus for Duncan Catchpole, founder of the popular organic food business, is that the e-NV200 vans cost from just 2p a mile to run, enabling him to keep overheads to a minimum.
Duncan said: “Our business is founded on strong environmental beliefs and we try to pioneer new green technology wherever possible, which is why we have invested in these Nissan electric vans.
“I absolutely love them and they are amazing to drive. I doubt I’ll ever return to a petrol or diesel model again, especially as I know these electric vehicles will greatly reduce my fuel bill.”
The Nissan e-NV200 is Europe’s best selling 100% electric van and offers a driving range of up to 106 miles on a single charge – ideal for The Cambridge Organic Food Co making multiple deliveries in the Cambridgeshire region.
Darren Smith, Business Development Manager at Nissan dealer group Glyn Hopkin, said: “It’s great to hear that such an environmentally friendly business as The Cambridge Organic Food Co has gone electric with these Nissan e-NV200 vans.
“However, e-NV200 owners also benefit from ultra-low running costs and 40% lower servicing costs when compared with an equivalent diesel vehicle.”
