Nissan’s charge to electrify its European line up is backed by the stats, with 1.25 million electrified vehicles now sold in the region… and counting.
The seven-figure total includes close to 350,000 full EVs, demonstrating Nissan’s electric expertise, experience and leadership.
Building on its foundation as the leading Japanese automaker for EVs in Europe, Nissan now has its broadest ever electrified product range, designed to give customers greater choice.
This strengthened European line-up now includes the all-new electric MICRA, third-generation LEAF, updated Ariya, and refreshed, e-POWER equipped, X-Trail.

These new models were recently showcased to European media at a specialist test drive event in Barcelona, demonstrating how Nissan’s different electrified technologies are designed to suit different customer lifestyles and needs.
Nissan’s electrified line-up will be joined by an A-segment EV later this year and all-electric JUKE in early 2027, giving European customers a choice of five fully electric Nissan cars, plus two electric vans, Townstar and Interstar.
Multiple electrified technologies
Clíodhna Lyons, Region Vice President, Product & Services Planning, Nissan AMIEO, said: “The customer is at the heart of everything we do so we are excited to offer electrified options to suit all needs.
Every customer approaches electrification differently. To meet their diverse requirements, from daily city driving to longer-distance travel, we are investing in multiple electrified technologies that provide the flexibility they need.
Whether choosing a 100% EV, our unique e-POWER technology or one of our hybrid models, our goal is the same: to give customers the confidence and freedom to choose the electrified vehicle that best suits their lifestyle while supporting Europe’s transition towards an increasingly electrified future.”

Nissan’s strong electrified line-up reflects its long-term strategy in Europe: to offer customers more choice across technologies, segments and price points. By combining all EV with different hybrid technologies, Nissan aims to make electrified driving accessible while supporting the region’s shift towards electrified mobility.
Hybrids and electric vehicles (EVs) are enjoying sustained growth in Europe. Figures from the ACEA confirmed that electrified cars accounted for 61.3% of total EU new car registrations in 2025, up from 51.7% in 2024. Last year also saw hybrid electric models overtake petrol models as the largest share, at 34.5%.

About models equipped with e-POWER technology
At the heart of Nissan’s Electrification with choice approach is e-POWER, Nissan’s unique hybrid powertrain. It delivers the smoothness, responsiveness and refinement of an electric drive without the need to plug in.
The powertrain is available on Nissan Qashqai and refreshed Nissan X-Trail paired with all-wheel drive e-4ORCE technology. The third generation of e-POWER hybrid, currently available on Nissan Qashqai, delivers impressive efficiency of up to 65.7mpg on the WLTP cycle. Over 300,000 European customers have already chosen an e-POWER model.
About Nissan’s current EV line-up
For customers looking for zero-emission driving on everyday journeys, Nissan’s 100% electric vehicle range includes an expanding line-up of new models, such as the all-new MICRA and the third-generation LEAF, which was recently named Auto Express Car of the Year. Designed for urban commuting as well as longer journeys, these models combine fully electric performance with the latest connectivity, driver assistance technologies and distinctive Nissan design.
Nissan’s current 100% electric portfolio is expanded by the Japanese-design-inspired Nissan Ariya, which is just arriving in European markets with a facelift, including new colours, more convenient safety features, and enhanced connected services.
These EV options are being continually improved. The pioneering Nissan LEAF showcases this mentality perfectly, having enjoyed significant upgrades in both engineering and design over its generations. This includes performance as well as range – which has risen from 109 miles in its first generation to up to 387 miles (WLTP) in the all-new version. This is just one example of Nissan’s commitment to continually improving its offerings for customers as technology advances.
About Future Nissan European electrified portfolio
Alongside the recent launches of the new MICRA, LEAF, and updated Ariya, Nissan will continue to expand its EV portfolio with the arrival of the all-electric JUKE in 2027, reinventing an iconic model and extending zero-emission mobility into one of Europe’s most popular crossover segments. It will be joined by a new A-segment electric vehicle developed in partnership with Renault. It is designed to make electric mobility even more affordable for urban customers.
Together, these new models reinforce Nissan’s long-term commitment to providing European customers with a broad portfolio of electrified vehicles designed around real-world driving needs. By utilising existing partnerships to boost agility and shorten development times, Nissan is also fulfilling another key part of its Vision – bringing models to the market and allowing customers to get behind the wheel sooner.
