STAFF at a Cambridgeshire Nissan dealership have been presented with a trophy to mark their success in the car manufacturer’s Global Award scheme.
The team at JS Holmes Ltd, East Anglia’s longest-established Nissan dealer, has won praise for their sales success and first-class customer care.
Their Global Award coincides with similar successes for two other UK Nissan dealers: Fred Coupe Nissan, of Preston, Lancashire; and Yeomans of Worthing, Sussex. The trio are among a total of just 117 dealerships around the world which have been recognised in this way.
Nissan Motor GB Managing Director James Wright presented JS Holmes’ award to Dealer Principal Martin Holmes during a special ceremony at the company’s Wisbech premises last week. Also present was Mr Holmes’ father, John Holmes, better known as Nobby, who founded the business in April 1955 and is now aged 84.
Martin Holmes said everyone at the dealership was thrilled about the company’s success. He added: ‘We have been working with Nissan since 1976 and we’re delighted to have won this award. It’s just reward for the effort that our staff put in as they try to deliver first-rate customer service.
‘We’re a small, rural dealer with a staff of about 30 and we’re looking forward to having the Global Award kitemark on our publicity material.’
On the company’s sales performance, Mr Holmes added: ‘Juke and Qashqai are continuing to perform well but Note in particular has been a success for us – we’ve sold more Notes than we have anything else’.
The company is run very much along family lines with Martin Holmes’ son Alex working as sales manager. He took over from Steve Holmes, Martin’s brother, who retired last year along with his wife Linda. Martin’s nephew Richie Holmes is a technician in the workshop.
The dealership offers new cars, used cars under Nissan’s award-winning CARED4 scheme, Motability scheme cars and commercial vehicles.
Nissan President and Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn told the team at the company: ‘To win the Nissan Global Award is recognition of your hard work and evidence of your team’s performance. You belong to a very exclusive circle of excellence.’
