NISSAN jump started the build-up to the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games at the weekend when it supported British athletes at the 2016 Müller Anniversary Games.

The brand is the Official Automotive Sponsor of the 2016 Müller Anniversary Games, which took place at The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford.

The festivities kicked off on Friday evening when the world’s fastest man and Nissan’s Global Director of Excitement Usain Bolt waved to the crowds from a Nissan NP300 Navara during the opening parade before competing in the 200m race.

Over the course of the weekend, he was joined by British Double Olympic Champion Mo Farah CBE and a number of other British athletes, including Nissan’s ambassador athletes Lynsey Sharp and Richard Whitehead MBE who all appeared in four Nissan NP300 Navaras and an all-electric Nissan LEAF.

Nissan also supported its other British athlete ambassadors, including Katarina Johnson Thompson, Laura Weightman and David Weir CBE.

Chris Marsh, Marketing Director, Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd, commented: “Nissan is honoured to be supporting British athletes during this phenomenal summer of sport.

“We hope that through our role as Official Automotive Partner the Müller Anniversary Games, we can join fans and show our support of these athletes. We will continue to support these athletes as they head off to Rio 2016 via our Team GB and ParalympicsGB partnerships.”
