NISSAN has announced passenger car sales for the first six months of 2015 of more than 88,000 units, an increase of 15% compared to last year.
This represents a market share of 5.7% for the calendar year-to-date. In June, Nissan passenger cars sales topped 15,000, up 15.6% versus June 2014.
Highlights:
- Nissan sets new record in the first half of 2015 with 88,000 vehicles sold
- In June, Nissan achieved a passenger car market share of 6.1% – the highest June market share posted in the brand’s UK history
- In June, Nissan posted highest retail share at 7% and the 4th highest retail share in the market
- Nissan’s total market share (passenger car and LCV) has grown 0.4% in H1 2015 to 5.7% making Nissan the fastest growing top 10 brand, overtaking Audi, Mercedes and BMW
- Half year sales confirm Nissan’s position as the market leader in the pure electric car sector, with total UK sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF over 10,000 units since launch (10,160)
- Nissan’s crossover range continues to grow in popularity with Qashqai now the 5th best-selling car in the UK, overtaking the Vauxhall Astra. Nissan’s Juke and X-Trail also secured significant sales gains in June and in the first six months of 2015
