Nissan has announced that cumulative global production of its e-POWER vehicles has passed 1.5 million units.
At present, e-POWER vehicles are sold in 68 markets around the world.
A unique and award-winning Nissan technology, e-POWER uses a small-capacity petrol engine and lithium ion battery to power an electric motor – the electric motor alone drives the wheels.
This results in an electric-vehicle driving experience, characterised by powerful and responsive acceleration yet quietness.
Best-in-class
Nissan launched e-POWER first in Japan in 2016 and in fiscal year 2023, 42.6 per cent of Nissan vehicles sold in Japan were e-POWER.
In Europe, e-POWER versions of X-Trail and Qashqai were launched in 2022, with a total of more than 100,000 units sold as of January.
Last month, Nissan Qashqai with e-POWER was recognised by The Sun, The Sunday Times and driving.co.uk in the News UK Motor Awards 2024, as best-in-class with its unique and innovative electrified powertrain.
