THE Scottish motor racing team sponsored by Straiton-based Nissan dealership Alex F. Noble & Son, has announced big plans for the forthcoming season.
Following a standout 2017 that saw Ecurie Ecosse shine in the Michelin Le Mans Cup and claim title honours in the Henderson Insurance Brokers LMP3 Cup in the UK, the Nielsen-run squad is returning to both series and expanding its programme for this year.
They’ll be racing in the European Le Mans Series as well as their existing competitions — all with the 2019 Le Mans race in mind.
Heading the team of drivers is Colin Noble, son of Alex F Noble & Son director Colin Noble Snr, who will be joined by Danish racer Christian Olsen and British driver Alex Kapadia for the European Le Mans Series. Colin will continue to drive alongside Alasdair McCaig in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, while the driver line-up for the LMP3 Cup will be announced soon.
Colin said: “I am delighted to be racing for Ecurie Ecosse Nielsen Racing again this year following a very successful 2017. I’m looking forward to partnering Christian and Alex in the European Le Mans Series, and continuing my partnership with Alasdair moving into the Le Mans Cup this season. Really excited and can’t wait to get the season underway!”
