A company specialising in providing healthy meals to children’s nurseries has ordered four new Nissan all-electric eNV200 vans from Straiton-based Alex F Noble & Son Nissan, to add to its busy delivery fleet.
Healthy Tots Ltd is a thriving family-run Midlothian company which specialises in providing fresh and nutritious hot meals to local private nurseries in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
The company is no stranger to Nissan’s eNV200 as it already has four of the electric vans in constant use, but rapidly rising demand for its produce across the region has led to a doubling of its fleet to eight vehicles, all of them 100% electric.
Jonathan Robertson, Director of Healthy Tots Ltd, said: “We’ve been running a fleet of four Nissan eNV200 electric vans since the end of last year and found them to be very cost-effective and extremely capable all-round vehicles.
“However, to keep pace with the increasing demand for our services, we simply needed more of the same vehicle so we’ve now ordered another four. All eight vehicles feature the increased capacity 40kWh battery, so we will now get a greater number of deliveries done even more quickly and easily than before, and thanks to all of the government incentives to drive electric, including the UK plug-in car grant, zero congestion charge and zero road tax, it’s all helping to enhance our sustainable reputation and we’re spending less on running costs too!”
Jonathan continued: “When we first started looking for delivery vehicles, the close proximity of the Alex F Noble & Son Nissan dealership at nearby Straiton to our premises at Roslin made it the obvious choice, but since my first visit, the fantastic service I have received consistently from both the EV specialist Jim Rowan and the rest of the Noble team has kept me coming back for more.”
Jim Rowan, EV specialist at Alex F Noble & Son Nissan, said: “We’re all delighted that Healthy Tots continues to be one of our most loyal and long-standing customers. It’s great to know the firm is benefiting from the many features provided by the eNV200 vans, not least of which are significant savings on fuel and road fund licences, and as the vehicles are 100% electric, the firm is certainly doing its bit to help protect the environment.”
