Nissan colleagues across the UK are reminded that there is just a week to go until the deadline for nominations in the Autocar Great Women Awards for 2025.
The awards are held in association with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and recognise women leading the way across the automotive industry. For 2025, Autocar is particularly keen to celebrate the achievements and potential of up-and-coming female stars of the sector.
Accolades are available for outstanding candidates in the following categories: customer aftercare; marketing; manufacturing; mobility and digital; operations; and diversity, equity & inclusion.
Far and wide
Other important categories include PR and communications; purchasing; sales – retail; sales – OEM; and vehicle development. In addition, there will be an apprentice category. If you would like to learn more about the initiative and the nomination process, please click here.
The industry’s top rising stars will be announced in a ceremony on Wednesday April 30th. Individuals can put themselves forward for consideration or can be nominated by friends, colleagues or employers.
NMGB employees are urged to look far and wide for potential candidates – and are reminded that it’s a good idea to think outside of your immediate team for people who are deserving of an award. There is no limit to the number of nominations that can be submitted, but they must be registered here by Friday January 31st!
Last year, an impressive nine women from Nissan were included in the 100 Most Influential Women list published by Autocar Great Women.
They included Diana Torres, Managing Director, Nissan GB; Fiona Mackay, Marketing Director, Nissan GB; and Claire Curtis, Production Control Director at Nissan Manufacturing UK.
Strongly represented
Nissan has sponsored the initiative for a number of years, celebrating the huge pool of talented women the company currently has working in the automotive industry.
A spokesperson for the company said: ‘‘It was wonderful to see Nissan so strongly represented in last year’s list of influential women. Let’s hope we can achieve similar recognition this time around! It’s a fantastic initiative from Autocar, and one that we’re very proud to sponsor and champion once again.’’
